Solitude and Crowds

I was in a horrible mood at the end of school. The feeling accumulated throughout the week. Perhaps I was too used to the peaceful solitude I had during the holidays that I forgot that people are cruel. You would have hoped your worth and presence wasn’t taken for granted… Although I have much to say about this, I’ll shut my gap.

To add on, I was beyond pissed at having crappy lecture theatres where you get to see less than one-quarter of the screen and sit on chairs that are linked with other people. The combination resulted in vibrating chairs whenever someone stood up just to look at the screen.

Not to mention, some lecturers really should quit their jobs. In plain terms, my lectures were a waste of time because I’d have understood more while self-studying. In even more simple terms, I’m bloody pissed because I was made to feel like an idiot who cannot comprehend a supposedly simple topic.

Sighs… Let go of the anger and resentment…

You know what, I prefer to be alone…

Who’s in My Class? Shocked…

I finally checked the class list to determine who had made it in the same class as me. I was shocked, for more than one reason.

Firstly, I was pretty sure that at least ten people from my year 1, semester 1 class had made it into the new class. Nope, fat hope. Six people. Out of the old class, only two guys (inclusive of me) made it to this class. Oh well…

Here’s the other reason why I was surprised. I was thinking about how my Year 1, semester 2 class would react to certain people in my class… I’m sure as hell fine with whoever I am talking about. Hahaha. Controversy because of hair.  That’s all I can say.

And I had thought I could have the quiet country life in the new class. Sighs.

Down with Chicken Pox

I turned in before dawn today. It was unusually cold and I was shivering. Curious about the temperature, I checked my wall thermometer expecting it to be around 24 degrees Celcius. It was not.

I have high fever. The worst part of it was, I couldn’t sleep with the nasty headache. I spent the night worrying if it was chicken pox (my sis had it), dengue or hair-straightener-poisoning. If you ask me, I have no desire of the first two. The wait period is both 2 weeks, one has the chance of giving me scars and the other requires that I have IV needles stabbed into my forearm.

Anyway, it turns out that I have chicken pox. Sighs. School begins on Monday and I’m going to miss the chance to build a good foundation for my modules. I guess things don’t always go our way. I have to put off the salon visit too.

I intend to self-study during the MC period. And I can treat it as extra holiday. My foot!

On Teacher’s Day Last Year

Last year was the year after my graduation from secondary school. I went back there on Teacher’s Day to rekindle the memories and attachment to both my alma mater and the teachers. There was even an invitation sent via email.

Contrary to my intent, I and several other students who had kept their hair long and/or dye it were barred from entering. The pretext for that absurdity was our influence to the ‘innocent’ students there. Well, my previous sentence should suffice on what I feel about this treatment.

Now when I remember it, it seems I no longer feel much for that place. Yes, I remember my experiences within the school compound, and the constant hide-and-seek game with the discipline committee. But in some cases I’ve disassociated many emotions to that place. You can even call me crazy but I felt betrayed.

Imagine having few links that attach you to the past. And with time, each link breaks. You would expect the link to a building to be broken much later because mainly it is an inanimate object and doesn’t change much. Well, so much for expectations… People who set any expectations bound to be disappointed.

At least I’ve hung out with certain friends after.

Ikea Evening with Friends

Let’s see what happen this year…

More CSS Problems

This is a follow-up on the prior entry. I was talking about designing a layout using CSS and how the browsers were giving me problems. I have since sorted it out.

However, I have a new issue: screen resolution. Just as I was about to complete the layout, I tested the site on a 800 by 600 screen resolution. The results were shit. Everything was cramped together. In simpler words, if this isn’t clear enough, I have to redesign everything.

I don’t even want to think about it…

I’ll be better off using a premade layout but this option feels like cheating.

Layout Design Woes

Three years ago, I made a business deal with my uncle to design his company’s website. My uncle runs a property management company. During these years, I’ve been pestering him for pictures to include in the portfolio and design, but to no avail. Clearly, due mainly to this, the website is yet to be completed.

Nevertheless, I’m determined to finish it within the week.

Having started yesterday, I was extremely irritated when working with CSS. I had finished part of the layout when I decided to test the page on three different browsers for compliance; Internet Explorer worked fine, Firefox and Opera were having problems. Everytime I corrected issues on one side, another browser would have a problem.

I shall do some experimentation today, to identify the dumbass feature that is causing this.

One Week Hiatus

From tomorrow till Friday I won’t be posting any new entry. It is the exam week itself and I have got to focus.

Once the exam week ends, I will be rebuilding the Logish Paradox template and at the same time prep Justice Tribunal.
